The pots you see are from the Mediterranean region, mostly eastern Turkey and Persia. These pots were handmade for family use, not made for tourists. Their ages vary from about 100 to several hundred years old. They are usually glazed inside, to create a watertight container for wine, water, olive oil and other ingredients in the daily diet. The outsides are usually partially glazed. They range in size from a little less than 1 ft. in height by 8 inches in diameter, to about 2 ft. high with a 10 inch diameter. Pots like these have been very popular for some time now and move very quickly. The retail value of these pots varies according to size, age, condition and aesthetic appeal. Broadly speaking, their retail value will fall somewhere between 150 and 500 dollars.
